The National Pastors’ Conference of the PNG Bible Church was held on the 13th- 16th July, 2020 at the Tambul Bible School campus. It was unique and special. More than 600 plus Pastors from all over PNG attended. God’s heavy anointing saturated the Conference from the beginning till the end. The Preaching sessions were taken by Rev.Wane Ninjipa and Rev. Pilipo Miriye respectively. They were our main speakers. However, they were used of God and delivered some soul-searching sermons ever heard. Other sessions were taken by various Church leaders and Pastors who spoke on the different topics, equipping and reminding Pastors that the Call to preach in an High calling, therefore it must be seriously undertaken.
Almost everyone that attended the Conference had received help and went back rejuvenated to pursue evangelism and preaching in their local Churches including the neighboring communities. Also, more than twenty (20) Pastors were ordained followed by a presentation of certificates to those who were already ordained but did not receive their papers. This important ceremony was officiated by Rev. Wane Ninjipa, the General Superintendent of the PNG Bible Church and Rev. Undi Pundu, chairman of the Ordination Committee. The event ended on a high note.
The Director of Pastoral Ministries, Rev. Rambai Poponawa had also retired from service at the Conference. It was a sad moment to witness the occasion, however he did what God has led him to do. In his heydays, he was a successful businessman, ventured into Agricultural Farming and Retailing but left everything to obey God’s call. He then attended Bible College in the United States and attained a Masters of Divinity in Pastoral Ministries at the Wesleyan Biblical Seminary, Mississippi, USA. He retired after serving in the Ministry for more than 20 years.
A love offering was collected to appreciate the services he has rendered to the work of God including the PNG Bible Church as a whole. On behalf of the National Church Council, Rev.Wane had thanked him for his effort and time invested to do God’s business. “Your labor was not in vain. You did what God has called you to do and your rewards are in order”, Rev. Wane said.
Rev.Wane had also announced that a new replacement will soon be appointed to take on from where Rev. Rambai had left. The 2020 National Pastors’ Conference has ended successfully. The next Conference will be held in 2021 if the Lord tarries.
