About

Welcome to PNG Bible Church Inc., where we are dedicated to sharing the transformative power of God's Word and nurturing a vibrant Christian community in Papua New Guinea and beyond.

Our History

  • Founding and Expansion
    • Since its inception in 1948 by Rev. Green Tolbert Bustin, the church has grown to over 900 churches across Papua New Guinea, with missionary work in the Philippines, Solomon Islands, and West Papua Indonesia.

Statement of Faith

  • The Bible
    • We hold the Bible, both Old and New Testament, as Divinely Inspired Scriptures, infallible in the original writings and the final authority for Christian faith, life, and conduct (II Timothy 3:16, II Peter 1:21).
  • God
    • Our faith is in one God, Creator of all, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons: The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit (I John 5:7).
  • Jesus Christ
    • Jesus Christ, in His unchanging deity, became human through the Holy Spirit's conception and virgin birth, died on the cross for our sins, and rose bodily from the dead, now advocating for us in heaven (John 1:1-18).
  • Holy Spirit
    • True believers have the privilege and duty to be cleansed from sin and perfected in love, achieved through being filled with the Holy Spirit, leading to Entire Sanctification (I Thessalonians 4:3, I Thessalonians 5:23-24).
  • Indwelling of the Holy Spirit
    • The Holy Spirit's presence is manifested through the fruits of the Spirit, essential for true spiritual life (Galatians 5:22-23).
  • Origin of Man
    • Humanity, created in God's image, fell into sin, necessitating salvation through faith in Jesus Christ and regeneration by the Holy Spirit (I Corinthians 15:3-4).
  • Salvation
    • Salvation is through Jesus Christ's atoning death and resurrection, accessible to all who repent and accept Him (John 3:3).
  • Security of Saints
    • True security in faith is based on obedience to God's Word (James 1:22, James 2:17,26).
  • Second Coming of Jesus Christ
    • We anticipate Jesus Christ's personal pre-millennial return, influencing our lives and service (I Thessalonians 4:16-17).
  • Resurrection
    • Believers will be resurrected to eternal joy with the Lord, while unbelievers face judgment and punishment (Daniel 12:12; John 5:28-29).
  • The Church
    • The Church consists of all regenerated by the Holy Spirit, united in Christ (Ephesians 5:25-27; Matthew 16:18-19).
  • Holy Living
    • Believers should live free from worldliness, evidenced by the Holy Spirit's guidance in their lives (I Thessalonians 5:22; Romans 8:16).
  • Water Baptism and the Lord’s Supper
    • These are essential ordinances, symbolizing inner faith but not means of salvation (I Corinthians 11:23,26; Matthew 26:17-29).
  • Witness of the Holy Spirit
    • The Holy Spirit's presence is known to believers, with speaking in tongues not being a primary indicator (Romans 8:16; Galatians 4:6).
  • Divine Healing
    • We believe in Divine Healing, complemented by the benefits of medical science (Exodus 15:26; Isaiah 53:5).
  • Tithes & Offerings
    • Tithing and offerings are crucial for supporting God's work (Malachi 3:8; II Corinthians 9:7).
  • Sunday Observance
    • Sunday, the Lord's Day, should be kept holy and free from secular activities (Exodus 20:8-11).
  • Marriage
    • Marriage is honored as a union of one man and one woman, as per Christian principles (I Timothy 3:2; Genesis 2:24).
